A Dark Cloud Looms
Dark Cloud is an Action RPG published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Launching early in the console’s lifecycle (although originally intended to be a launch title), this PS2 exclusive was the first game to be developed by Level-5. Level-5 has since developed many popular games including Dragon Quest VIII, Rogue Galaxy, Ni no Kuni, the Professor Layton series and more.
Dark Cloud is unique in the way that it blends both Action-RPG elements and city-building elements. Players must make their way through randomly generated dungeons, battling beasts and collecting city pieces which can later be assembled in any way the player chooses.
There was also a sequel to Dark Cloud released on the PS2. Dark Cloud 2 (known as Dark Chronicle outside of North America) was first released on November 28th 2002.
